Summer Training

As we roll into March, which is coming in like a lamb, it’s time to think about the summer program here at Wild Apple Kennel.  Over the last few summers, I have turned away a lot of dogs because I had some health issues.  Those are all resolved and I’m feeling great.  Which means, I am planning to take a full complement of dogs for June, July and August.  The program involves taking your dog from its current level and striving towards a well-prepared hunting dog for the fall season.  Our program is ideally suited for young dogs that have been exposed to birds and cover and are ready for more advanced training.  All the dogs will get yard work and training birds here at the kennel, as well as time in the woods on wild birds.

There are only a limited number of spots as I have some returning dogs as well as people who have already reserved a slot for their dog.  If you want to know more use the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page. You can also get a copy of my book Building a Grouse Dog as it outlines my training philosophy. The book is available at the link above.
